About This Book
In the rugged Cascade Mountains, Colby Jansen has dedicated five years to raising her younger half-siblings, Ginny and Paul, after the death of their father, Armando Chevez. She manages their family ranch with unwavering determination, fiercely protecting her siblings from external threats. However, the arrival of the De La Cruz brothers, including the enigmatic Rafael, challenges her resolve. They claim that Ginny and Paul belong with their father's family, not with Colby, threatening the stability she has fought so hard to maintain.
Rafael De La Cruz, a centuries-old vampire hunter, has spent his life battling the very creatures that threaten Colby's family. Over time, his capacity to feel emotions has diminished, leaving only sheer willpower to prevent him from becoming the very abomination he hunts. Upon meeting Colby, he recognizes her as his lifemate, a bond that reignites his long-dormant emotions. Despite his initial cold and arrogant demeanor, Rafael is drawn to Colby, and his desire to claim her as his own intensifies.
As Colby and Rafael's paths intertwine, they face not only the looming threat of the De La Cruz brothers but also the emergence of a powerful vampire stalking Colby and her family. The tension between their growing attraction and the dangers surrounding them creates a dark and intense atmosphere, filled with suspense and the promise of a slow-burn romance. Their journey is fraught with challenges that test their resilience and the strength of their bond.

DARC Ops
Where do I begin with how much I LOVED this book! At first, I'm not gonna lie, I didn't think I was going to like Mira, but she is a handful and a half! I wish I could speak as many languages as she does!! And what can I say about Jackson?! I mean, who doesn't love a Navy SEAL?!?! And a gentleman too!! I'm so looking forward to reading more of Jackson and Mira!! Thank you again Jamie for another great read!!

Brainy Hot Mess Meets Hunky Capable Hero
5 stars for Jaime Garrett. In this first book we meet Jackson and Mira. Both are looking for more in their life and that's exactly what they get when they meet. Jackson is a take charge alpha who knows how to get the job done in more ways than one and Mira is his equal in every way.

Great first DARC OPS book!
What a great book! I loved how intellectual the characters were, how intricate the story line (but not so much that you get lost), and how smart the writing was. It's awesome to read a book that knows that the reader is smarter than some other books would have you believe. Jackson and Mira are two extremely intelligent people who connect immediately on more than just a physical level. But their intelligence makes them skeptical of each other until circumstances and chemistry override their hesitation. As with all of Jamie Garrett's books, Mira is a strong, independent woman with a sassy m

Superb read!
Smart, clever girl and a strong, heartfelt hero. Wonderful sex scene loved the build up. Their dialogue has some wonderful funny moments. Really liked the secondary characters. I'm guessing they'll get stories. I look forward to more books.

Excellent
I was very pleased with the entire book. It was well edited, well planned, the plot was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that a die hard sensualist may be a bit disappointed as there is only one true intimate scene in the entire book.

I think my favourite genre is romantic suspense and Jamie did a great job in this first of the series. Keeping us on the edge of our seats and loving the people who do what the right thing is, if not always the easy thing. This was an interesting read with suspense and sizzle and I enjoyed the way Jamie gave Jackson very quirky nuances but for Mira they just clicked. Cannot wait for the rest of the DARC Ops series!
