A traditional romance, but written and plotted in a very unconventional way! <3
If you're looking for a traditional romance that is however very unconventional, then crazy this novel is for you! I read most of it in a day and that's coming from a reader who takes 3-6 days to finish a normal novel. See, Elise Alden gave me a tonne of reasons to hate Paisley, the main character, and a few even to hate James, the love interest but what can I say? I really appreciate and tip my hat to her as the author for daring to make leading characters have qualities that other authors shy away from, instead making characteristics to enhance likeability. I think inside we all want to do

You will love and hate this book
I'm pretty sure I hated to love this book. Paisley is the poster child for broken and flawed. Between lies and truths, nothing goes right for her and she continues to spiral out of control. Getting to know her through her POV helps with understanding her. She wasn't living the kind of life where she was set up for success or had the right resources at her fingertips. Her family isn't supportive of her, her sister hates her, and no one thinks she's capable of anything. Even James, her sister's fianc, doesn't have kind words to say to her even though they share a soul level connection. But James

Loved it!
ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Apparently, I have a weakness for underdogs, because I rooted for Paisley the whole way through! Admittedly, she did some awful things, but I couldn't help but still want the best for her. I felt everything with Paisley. When she felt helpless and frustrated, I felt helpless and frustrated. When she felt cravings for drugs and alcohol, I completely understood. When she was desperate to see the child she'd given up, I was tense with the need for her to see him. When she hit rock bottom, I almost cried. The wri

Read it! Read it! Highly recommended
This book far surpassed my expectations... Elise's writing style was beyond impressive, I loved every word, every inner-thought and every character flaw. This is seriously the best book I have read this year Never have I experienced such a wide range of emotions that I did with this book! Every detail related to this story was perfectly woven throughout the book. I could re-read this book over and over again, I absolutely love it!

Great Story!
I've been a lot of romance stories lately and most of them are similar, this one was somewhat different. The plot was very interesting and refreshing. Paisley goes through a lot and her family doesn't support her. I was surprised with her will to keep reaching for her son eventhough she was arrested and threaten. Overall Paisley was very strong and at the end she finally was happy.

Awesome, Awesome book!!!
I absolutely loved this book!!! It is unlike any other I have read in this genre. This story was filled with passion - not the sappy, corny, contrived eye rolling kind, but the type that comes from intense feelings of love and hate. James and Paisly were as different as night and day but were so connected in their souls. Their issues were nearly insurmountable but they worked through them after trust that was so hard earned on both sides. Words can't do this book justice. Just read it. I promise you won't be able to put it down. It's an awesome, awesome book!
