Alexandre is freaking HOT!!
This series just keeps getting better and better. Oh Alexandre, Alexandre he's such a dominating alpha male that whatever he wants he gets no matter the consequences. Things get heated up between Alexandre and Pearl, they both have secrets that neither want to divulge to one another. They think that if they confess their secrets the other will leave and neither one wants that. Although they are trying to hide stuff from their past, it still seems like if it's not one thing it's another getting in their way and jeopardizing their relationship. The love that Alexandre and Pearl have for each o

I liked getting to know the insecure Pearl and sexy Alexandre
I was a bit cautious as I was reading this re-told, dual POV version of Shades of Pearl. Having Alexandre's POV allowed me to know things that only he would know, and Pearl might not yet have found out. I felt as if I were in on the secret. I found myself laughing out loud at some scenes, highlighting others, and swooning a bit at the very sexy scenes. I liked getting to know the insecure, 40 y/o American divorcee, Pearl, as she fibs her way to meeting Alexandre and his sister, Sophie, at the cafe. She does some immature things, but she is endearing. I can appreciate her confusion, self-decep

Inspirational
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and I know just how the character felt. I am still dealing with issues. It was a great and meaningful story. I loved it.

Pearl & Alexandre + Sophie + Laura
Wow, what a messy plot and the entire lot of characters are a mess! After reading the first book of this series, I wanted to know more, but was leery of the dual POVs. The author did a tremendous job though with less redundancy and more progression of time and scenery. The sex is smoking hot and details are juicy. Be prepared for both heterosexual and bisexual scenes. A smidgen of BDSM, but nothing crazy. The majority is plain vanilla. The cliffhanger ending is a doozy! I'm completely wrapped up in the story now and looking forward to completing this trilogy with book three immediately. The a

Love this series!!!
I love that Arianne Richmonde decided to write a different type of story where the woman is older than the man!! Yes Pearl can be very childish at times but her and Alexandre belong together. I love that she rewrote the Pearl series as both of their point of views. I couldn't put Hooked Up book 1 down. Can't wait to read the next book!

very classy book for a wonderful ideal
I read this book not realizing it was about a real charity. The book had quite a lot of emotionalism and descriptions of feelings that parallels what cancer surviving friends have described to me, and it made me instantly feel the realism of the storyline. The heroine is a breast cancer survivor who has intense shame (shame is not really the right word here, but best I can do) over her experience. She hides as much as she can from everyone, fearing their reactions. She also has severe body issues from the results of the treatments. The hero is not only a past love, but also one of the men
