About This Book
In "The Awakening," the first book of the Zodiac Academy series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, twin sisters Darcy and Tory Vega are abruptly thrust into the perilous world of Solaria, a realm where elemental magic is both a gift and a curse. Unveiling their true Fae heritage, they discover they are the rightful heirs to a throne they never knew existed. Their arrival at the Zodiac Academy, an institution designed to hone the powers of the Fae elite, marks the beginning of a tumultuous journey filled with challenges that test their strength and resolve.
As they navigate the treacherous halls of the academy, Darcy and Tory are confronted by the Celestial Heirs—four powerful and vindictive students who view the twins as a threat to their dominance. These Heirs, each embodying a different elemental power, engage in a relentless campaign of bullying and manipulation, aiming to break the sisters' spirits and secure their own positions of power. The twins must harness their unique abilities, confront their deepest fears, and forge alliances to survive the dark and intense atmosphere of the academy. The story delves into themes of power, identity, and the complexities of sibling bonds, all set against a backdrop of suspense and intrigue.

Fabulous read
The premise for this book and the beautiful cover was enough to hook me, but would I stay hooked? The heroine, Jaylin has seen first-hand the downside of claiming your mate. She's taken a strong stance and has dramatically changed her professional life. Got to love a heroine who is willing to take a stand. Of course, fate never goes easy and listens. Nope, not going to happen. In walks Aidan. He needs her help and he's not taking no for an answer. This is where the sexual tension begins. It simmers in the best kind of way. Yes, I stayed hooked. One of my favorite couple of sentences come in t

Amazingly Good Read
This was a really good read!! The story was very well built and sucked me in so much that I read it in one sitting. All the characters were amazing... Jaylin, a half shifter, is a little feisty and a lot set in her ways and Aidan is a full shifter who upon seeing Jaylin, knows what he wants and refuses to take no for an answer, making for some extremely interesting situations for them both. Have to also say that even though this was Jaylin and Aidan's book, my heart really went out to Liam and I really hope that he will somehow get his own HEA. I will DEFINITELY be recommending this book!!!!!

Fantastic read
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but by the fifth chapter, I was completely hooked! The hero and heroine had so much chemistry, it made it a page turner. What impressed me the most was the author's character development of Jaylin, a therapist who is a half-shifter but who has made the decision not to mate. When Aiden realizes she is his mate, he goes into full pursuit mode, and gradually, his pursuit of Jaylin causes her to grow emotionally and mentally so that she's a much more mature and self-aware character by the end of the book. I also loved that the shifter world Ni

A rating....
My Review: This book was really good. It took a totally different spin on shifter mates and I liked it. In this world, women hold all the power in mated couples and about 1% of the time, the male's mating instinct is "off" and leaves him in a situation that will eventually lead to madness if untreated. For the males, it's completely about animal instinct, but females can reject that...even after they've bonded, leaving the male lost and alone in this mental and emotional circle that needs his mate. Jaylin is a psychiatrist who, until about six months ago, specialized in treating shifters in t

The awakening
You know, Christine Feehan, satisfies so many aspects of the need that women have to be strong and vulnerable at the same time, sexy and respected by their partner at the same time and loved unconditionally...enjoy her books always.
