Bunny (Bunny, #1)
by Mona Awad
Samantha, a scholarship student in an elite MFA program, is drawn into a delectably twisted clique of eerie girls who all call each other “Bunny.” Invited into their cryptic "Smut Salon" and ritualistic Workshop, she finds reality bending in unsettling, hallucinatory ways as satire, horror, and wicked academia collide.
About This Book
Samantha Heather Mackey, a 25-year-old creative writing graduate student at the prestigious Warren University, finds herself on the periphery of a peculiar clique known as the Bunnies. This group of four female fiction students—Creepy Doll (Kira), Cupcake (Caroline), Vignette (Victoria), and the Duchess (Eleanor)—share an unsettling camaraderie, addressing each other as "Bunny" and engaging in rituals that blur the lines between reality and imagination.
Initially dismissive of their eccentricities, Samantha is drawn into their enigmatic "Smut Salon" and ritualistic workshops, where the Bunnies perform unsettling experiments involving the transformation of rabbits into "Drafts," hybrid men serving their whims. As she becomes more entangled with the Bunnies, Samantha's perception of reality begins to distort, leading her to question the boundaries between art and life, and the true nature of her relationships.
Set against the backdrop of an elite MFA program, "Bunny" delves into themes of identity, belonging, and the dark undercurrents of female friendships. The novel's atmosphere is a blend of dark academia and surreal horror, creating a suspenseful and intense narrative that challenges the protagonist's understanding of herself and the world around her.
What Readers Say
Readers praise Awad's writing for its seamless blend of dark academia and horror elements. Many find the novel's surreal and hallucinatory style both unsettling and captivating. Fans note the book's exploration of female friendships and the complexities of belonging. Some readers criticize the narrative's ambiguity and its departure from traditional horror tropes. Those who enjoy unconventional, genre-blending stories with psychological depth will appreciate this novel.

Another short, enjoyable shifter story from Ruby Shae. I always know I'm going to get a good read that won't take a lot of time from this author and Bunny Bear held true. Never listen to what a barmaid tells a guy hitting on her. She'll say what she needs to if it will get him to behave. Gabe's first mistake was doing just that. The last thing a bear shifter wants to hear is that she hates shifters. The last thing a curvy girl wants to see is the guy she wants dating a bunch of skinny girls. Her mistake was in believing he did it because he hated her and the way she looked. Read along

That bear needed a smack or two up against the Head! But I'm soo Glad she got her man! ;)
Gabe had more pride than a group of Lion shifters and it certainly should have led to a bigger fall than he got... I mean one off hand comment and after being with her a whole year and working with her almost daily and still not getting a clue? Soo yeah most times I'm thinking Michelle could do better ;) but I'm glad she got her Bear... And after all she put up with she more than deserved to get what she wanted ... Thanks Ruby

Just a little frustrated.
I liked this book it was a good read but a little frustrating. Why would he go so long without talking to anyone about her hateing shifters. She was supposedly best friends with his cousin why wouldn't he ask her about it. All in all I liked this book.

Short sexy story
Love sexy shifter romance. This one did not disappoint. Gable is an idiot like most men but once he realizes his mistake Michelle doesn't stand a chance of getting away.

Bunny gets (her) bear, growl!
I rated it 3* because it ended too abruptly; I wanted more. Then found out there was MORE, in fact 2 more books!! So I added a * to make it 4*. (view spoiler), so it had to lose 1* for that! Can't leave me drooling in that way, lol. I dropped 1* because it was too short, and needed an edit. This girl can write, and she hooked me straight away. (view spoiler). I just knew I was gonna be hot for the Alp, and I was! I particularly loved the way he kept growling; mind you that's to be expected from a bear, right lol? I could almost feel his great big paws wrapping around her (my) dainty body. Ye

Bunny growly bear
The hero and heroine are crazy for each other, however, misunderstandings kept them apart, it's nice to see how the situation is clarified, the love scenes are good, I wish there were more. LOL 3.7 stars.
